Week 6

This week we welcomed Seraia and Athena into Room 8, all the way from Room 4.
Congratulations on graduating from Transition Class to our Year One.

We are very happy to have you in our little whanau

Here is a photo of our growing little class

We are little word detectives

Here we are being word detectives with our detective notebooks.
To be a good word detective you have to hunt out sight words

Being a word detective requires a lot of concentration

I'm a great word detective

Look at all the words we have written down!

Look at us reading to each other!

We are very excited to be able to share our reading with each other.

Here we are practising EEKK Reading
EEKK means
elbow to elbow
knee to knee

We sit alongside each other and take turns at reading and listening.

 WE LOVE READING!!

  1. Ohhh I love the idea about making kids detectives to hunt out sight words in their note books!! I am going to use this one for my class and play detective music in the background while they do it. Good motivating strategy!
